Update: I know that this rifle is a priced a bit higher than the stock Model 97's. Even my original price was significantly below what I was advised by those who should know. Having had a lot of interest but no sale as yet I was told by the staff at Parkwest to consult with the premier Dakota dealer in the US for an appraisal of the appropriate value. They appraised it at $6,000! I was surprised that it would go that high for sure but the extreme rarity and premium additional features were the contributing factors.
I am not asking anywhere near that amount of money and probably should just put it in a rifle sock and store it as an investment. However I am much more motivated to recover my investment and secure a rifle I am more comfortable taking into the rough African bush where I am headed, as stated earlier. As the date for that trip approaches I need to get a rifle, set it up and develop loads for it and I'm running out of time.
I plan to keep the price in the same neighborhood but am willing to listen to offers or even trades for an "African" styled 300WM more appropriate to where it will be used. Feel free to contact me with questions or to have a conversation if you would like.
