Brass On Bolt Face

Hello all!

Was shooting my buddies Remington 300 WSM the other day and noticed a large amount of gold on the boltface. I pulled the bolt and was shocked at all the brass that was left on the bolt. We were firing factory ammo and not that much, about 8-10 rds.
It came clean with a little solvent and brush.

Any ideas why this would happen?

Thanks in advance.

When you fire the shoulders move forward, the case heads move back & press against the boltface. Bolt turn on extraction wipes alittle brass.

I get some with rounds that are tight & bumped often for headspace.
Not a problem for me.
