black hills deer hunting

I have been out there several years turkey hunting and have seen thousands of deer every time I go just never been deer hunting out there. Talking with locals it sounds like good hunting for 130 class deer and maybe a few bigger but about 75% whitetails the rest mulies. I have gone to Harding county in the northwest corner antelope hunting and seen tons of mulies up there.

Good luck let me know how you do if you go.

Used to hunt around Hill City till they stopped the OTC tags.

Have heard the deer population, especially mature bucks, has vastly improved from years past.

If you find yourself in Hill City, look up Victor, he owns the Super 8 motel and gas station there.

He's a rabid deer hunter and has taken some very fine mulies.

Best of luck!

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a 170"+ whitetail, look else where. If you want to fill the freezer and have some long shots with some awesome views, start making plans and good luck drawing tags.
