This might be a ridiculous questions, but if you don't ask you'll never know. I have read, and watched a video on how to glass bed a bolt action rifle, and I'm ready to attempt it myself.
What do any of you think about using Mighty Putty that Billy Mays advertises on TV? It looks like it would be very easy to clean up with no mess. I don't know how the performance of this stuff would be though. Is marine-tex or devocon steel bed a putty? Thanks for input.

I've used something that I think is the same thing as the putty on TV. If it is the same thing it will be way too thick in consistency and I don't believe it will work.

If your just going to spot bed (A little under the front of the recever
and a little under the rear tang) , It might work but as David said
it will be two thick for a full blown bedding job.

I like the steel bed because of the consistancy, There are other brands
that work well and dont run all over everything.(Jells).

Some of the puttys never get completely hard also they shrink as AJ stated.

A bad bedding job is as bad as no bedding at all.
