Bedding the scope mount

yes , I do bed my rails . I use JB weld . here are instructions that came with my Ken Ferral rail . scope mounting.jpg

I used JB weld on a 300WSM and never had an issue at all, gun shot superbly. I've never had to do it again, and all my guns shoot well, I won't keep them if they don't. As stated earlier sometimes there is movement with a base, and the epoxy removes that and gives you a solid platform to mount your scope. Generally with quality bases and rings these types of issues are rare, especially with the better actions, but that is just my experience.

As stated above I bed with JB weld. I've bedded some with release on the action and some with release on it. It makes the rail or base surfaces mate up 100% with the action. In my mind it just eliminates one more variable.

I had never heard of this and it sounds like it is one of those things to do so that you can eliminate at least one of the potential problems
