I bedded my Sendero with JB weld 1.5" past the recoil lug with great results. My Model 12 benchrest I floated the tang and barrel nut when bedding it. ,it shoots ok.
Im getting in Devcon and HS Precision police stock for a Remington 700 action and Criterion light varminter (straight taper no contour) barrel with heavy recoil lug and Barrel nut.
Have any of you guys had any experience with bedding a setup like this? I always bed tang and chamber on 700s and float both tang and barrel nut on savages. What to do, what to do? Im considering bedding nut and tang on this one. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Bed from the tang to the lug. Nothing under barrel or nut. Anything touching the barrel transmits all forend pressure into the barrel. Not my personal opinion but as taught to us by Gordy Gritters.

Yep. I talked to Jim Briggs (criterion) today he told me the same thing.
Just getting other peoples opinions. thanks
