This is a questions to the gunsmiths here. Can you take a barrel from one Winchester M70 Classic (CRF) and put it on another Winchester M70 Classic? I ask this because of the extractor cut. I know absolutely nothing and I would have a gunsmith perform it, I am just asking if is possible.

Thanks in Advance
ASD

Apparently not, the thread pitch is different.
I tried the exact same thing a while back and it's a no go.

Cheers.

FN has a different thread and pitch to the USRAC made rifles.
They do not interchange.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

Thanks. These are both USRAC barrels, same model, same vintage, same factory...but I understand the timing of the cut for the extractor

If they are both USRAC bbls, it's worth a try. If the cut lines up and a NO GO doesn't, put some red threadlocker on it and go.
Thanks HappyWarrior
My intend was to keep the rifle original if possible. If it does not work, I will decide when the time comes.
