barrel life on 300 ultra

How many rounds of reloads do you think I can put through this? And how can you tell when its worn, just when accuracy goes to hell?

Smoak, I'd say you could expect no more than 700rds, your throat will go first, there's alot of powder to be burnt in that big case, but you still may get 'alright' accuracy, And your velocity will probably drop about 100-200fps after that many rounds. You could take it to a gunsmith and have him put a borescope in the barrel and check your throat for wear. Jay

Smoak,I put 1400 round's through one of my 300 ultra match gun's.Barrel still shot .75 or smaller for 5 shot's at 100.
