Can one expect to have a POI shift from going to a muzzle brake to a thread protector? On my CA ridgeline, I love the radial brake for shooting thru the summer, but the rifle is a 270 - recoil is minimal as it is - so I plan to take it off while Hunting.

Yes, I know the easy answer is to go test it in the field - which I will here in the next couple weeks, just curious if I should plan or expect major POI changes?

From my experience, you should expect a 2-4" shift. Everything you do to the muzzle will slightly affect the flight of the bullet. I've shot with and without the brake on a CA classic carbon 300 WIN, and a Ruger Hawkeye FTW 260 Rem. Both of those rifles shifted. The CA was about a 3" shift and the Ruger was about 4".
