Bill - I haven't tried them in my 7RM as my twist is 9.5. My 280AI is an 8 twist and stabilizes them fine. I got 3013 fps before pressure signs. I tried the StaBall 6.5 to conserve case space. Pressure spiked at a lower charge than I expected. It went from no pressure signs to very heavy bolt lift and trashed brass in .5 grains.

Ok, I'll see if I can get my info here. I'll start with the smallest and work my way up......

19" suppressed .270 Sherman, 1-8 twist
140 SBD II
CCI 200
Norma brass
3.500" OAL (.075" jump)
62.0 grain RL-26
3030 fps.
Max pressure was around 3160 fps with 64.5 grains, but this node was very accurate and forgiving. Will soon be loading the same bullet in another 25" barreled .270 Sherman and Peterson brass, interested to see what I end up getting for velocity. Below is what it looks like seated to touch the lands. The marker on the right bullet shows where the boat tail bearing surface starts.

Max was 2920 fps @ 67.4 grains. This is out of a factory Savage ultralight with a proof Carbon barrel, loosing a ton of capacity due to the short throat. Below, 2.930" -

never found pressure signs, and I worked up to 93.5 grains @ ~2940ish. Below is seated @ .050" off I believe.

This is what I got on the BDII's, soon as I get my barrel (8 twist Bartlien) I will start working on the 205's in a custom throated 20" 30 Nosler. I have VV-N565, IMR7828ssc, H1000, RS Magnum, Retumbo, RS-LRT, and some RL-33. Any suggestions on what I should start with? I was planning on trying H1000 and N565 first. Also, do these 205's seem to like to jump, or has anyone had them shoot well close to the lands? Below is a machinist up of the 205 SBDII, 215 Berger, and 212 eld-x.

I shoot the 205s in my 30 nosler 26" barrel load out pretty long with 83.6 gns. Of retumbo and shoots 1/4" groups at 200 yds. 3 shots Barbour creek rifle benchmark carbon barrel

Howdy, I have been reading through this thread and very interested in trying these bullets. My 30-378 will be finished the first of August, 27" Bartlein 9twt,. What can I use in a 9twt. And what powder do you recommend. Thanks for your help.

The 205 grain requires a 1:8.5 so the 195 will be you heaviest choice, it needs a 1:10 or faster.
195 grain

205 grain
Length: 1.825″

Twist: 1-8.5″

WOW, I noticed you are from Waxahachie Tx. I worked on the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant.
I did electrical construction, building that power plant back in the 80's. Hope it's still in production. Building Nuclear Power Plants is a different world. Hope all is well. David
