Bartlein has a #4 CF.
If you are going as small of a contour as a #3, just shoot a steel barrel. Maybe flute it of you want to lose a bit of weight.

Yeah, I think even at 22" the complete stainless barreled rifle package will be just a hair over 8lbs.

Proof Sendero Light are pretty lightweight. But bigger than a #3 for sure.
Christensen Arms has some of the lighterweight barrels out. But way bigger than a #3.
#2b fluted is about as light of a steel I have seen.

I have a McMillan with a #3 contour channel.
Your recommendation of the #3 is probably the best avenue. I want short and stiff and it will never see game beyond 500yds, so velocity isn't my biggest concern.
