Reboring a carbon wrapped barrel

I have a carbon wrapped barrel in .308 that I have thought about having bored to .338.

I reached out to the manufacturer about any differences in the blank diameter between a 30 cal blank and a 338 cal blank and they wouldn't disclose any info.

So question is, does anyone out there know if each caliber has a specific turned down diameter or are they done in caliber groups.

I would think that there is enough of a safety factor built in to remove .015 per side.

Any info would be appreciated

I would not even think of trying that. The barrel inside that carbon is pencil thin. The process will stress and bend that small diameter metal and cause the laminations to loosen to some degree. It would be a disaster in the making and waste of time.
