Does anyone have a good 22-243 load for the 90gr berger or sierra that they would like to share?
Thanks,
Al

Just an update for any that are interested...I'm at sea level, 8 twist 24" barrel, 90gr smk stabilized at 200 yards, grouped 1.2" with the initial 44gr Re25 test load. Velocity 3000fps No pressure signs...
But I don't know if I will need to fool with that...the berger 80 shot .476" with 47.3 gr Re25 at 200! Velocity 3200fps

I have a .223 wssm, its not the same as yours but would be close. I am having excellent results with the 90 SMK with Ramshot Magnum powder. Not quite sure of how much, my info. is in my shop. Muzzel velocity is 3050 with the bullet touching the lands and accuracy is outstanding out to 300 yards. I haven't had a chance to shoot much further yet. At 100 yards it shoots groups in pretty much the same hole and at 300 all groups have been under and inch. I killed a couple of whitetail doe at 300 yards with it this year and the combo worked great.

If you want the amount of RS Magnum I am using let me know and i can get it for you.

I shoot 22-243 with lapua brass, 47gr retumbo, 90gr berger vld seated .007 into the lands @ 3250fps. out of hart 24" 1-8 twist No pressure, easy on brass. I was shooting the 80gr berger vld @ 3450fps with r22. I was shooting the 80gr amax 3350 with retumbo, and 3400 with r25. Mine has no problem stabilizing the 90gr berger vld out to 1200 yards. here is a 1000yd group I shot with the 90gr berger vld.

Awesome,
Malcarjeb I may get back with you on that.
I do have a big jug of retumbo so I may try that load mikebob. looks like that gun is shooting them.
Thanks,
Al

With the berger vld bullets you want to shoot your groups @ 300yards or so. The groups @ 100 yards may make you cry, but get on out there were they have time to stabilize and they are very accurate. I dont know if it effects the 90smk the same way since they are much shorter in length, but berger vld do group better in some guns on farther than 100 yards. My 300 mag will touch 3 shots at 300 yards but shoots almost 1" at 100 yards. I was about to give up on them untill walt told me to shoot them at 300, now im hooked.

mikebob,
thank you for that info. I have seen the same thing with the bergers. I have some rounds loaded with the 90 berger and retumbo to try tomorrow.
thanks,
al

Well...my gun apparently doesn't like that retumbo load! Today groups were 3-5" at 200 yards. mikebob, if you don't mind me asking...I think I'm going to stick with the 80berger and I've got some Re22 on the way. What was your load with that, charge, seating depth, etc.?

With the Re25 my rifle seems to like it around 3200, but the case is slam full of powder so I'm going to give the Re22 a shot with hopes up bumping up the velocity.

Thanks very much,
Al

I have my 22-243 loads listed on reloadersnest.com I listed all the bullets and powders I loaded for. If your gun doesn't like bergersw you might try amaxs.
