Advice for scope mounting Ruger #1

EGW Evolution Gun Works make a rail solution that replaces the factory base. Watch the measurements as it's easy to order the wrong one….then Ruger has enough strangeness that I had to mill a bit. You end up with a solution that gives you more flexibility on scope mounting

Another option would be going with a conetrol rail and rings.
many options on ring size and height.

I used a 4 power scope on my ruger #1 in 375 H&H out to 200 yards. I guess it really depends on what your using it for

I've got a Weaver fixed 4 on both my #1's in 375 H&H and 458 Win. plenty eye relief and solid scope.
