7mm WSM Rifles

After some thoughts on the best new factory rifle available in 7mm WSM at the moment.
I will be buying one in 2009 for walk about long distance rifle, the choices out there seem to be slim pickings at the monent. Is the 7mm WSM a dead duck? as most rifles seem to come only in .270 WSM and .300 WSM.

The 7mm has much better bullets available for long distance shooting than the .270 WSM.

If I cant buy a suitable rifle, would I be better off to buy an old Remington 700 rifle and get a gun smith to do it up and re barrel it to 7mm WSM.

You may want to consider a Kimber.

My 7WSM is a Browning A-bolt. Not sure if they still chamber it or if you can get them down under.

I googled Savage 7mmWSM and found that there are still a few Savage 16 model's in the hands of some dealers. You may be able to find one.
