7mm short oal

Just got a Savage 111,started to reload ,but the longest oal I can get is 3.265''. The bullet is a Speer 160 gr spbt .will this hurt the rifle,or should I get a gun smith to look at it? I did load up some with 63 gr of rl22, fed215m at the max oal for this rifle , and got a5/8'' group. what do you think? no high pressure signs.

Book OAL is a suggestion, not a law. You're doing fine.

thanks for replying.just worried about having the bullet so deep in the case.
