using 168 or 180 berger bullets in 1/9 twist barrel can you get 3100 fps with 28 in barrel.

You should be able to attain 3100 easily with both probably over 3200 with the 168s.

With a 1/9 28" kreiger, I am able to get 3235 with the 180 gn bergers.

Nick using 175 Sierra's and US869 I hit 3o69 with a 26 inch barrel at 102 grains. Accuracy was at 101 grains at 3003. Now I want a longer barrel. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

i could shoot 180 bergers around 3230, 30" barrel but with a 7 twist. that was with 872 powder, mild load. i know retumbo or 869 would probably go faster.
