I picked up this barreled action around Christmas. I threw it in a chassis, and fired maybe 20 rounds. Enough to sight in at 100 and shoot a group. With a crappy 3-4lb xmark trigger, this is one of the most accurate rifles I have owned. I will post pictures of the listing description when I bought it, to save me some time. Long story short it has pitting on the bolt face around the firing pin. I had no issues with it, and neither did the previous owner. I had planned to keep as is, or open up and rechamber to 6.5prc. Since then I got my custom lightweight 260 back, and I already have a 6.5x284. I have no need for this anymore. I have kept it so long only because of how accurate it is, but I don't see myself ever using it. Also I need funds to complete some other projects, 20inch carbon barrel 308 has been on my mind for a long time.

I'm looking for 700 obo shipped for barreled action and base. Rings, scope, trigger not included.

Will work trades for ar15 sbr/pistol length upper in 6.8 or 5.56.

Can I ask what caused the pitting I've never saw this before over pressure maybe.
I asked the original owner about it.. he claims he never noticed it. The only thing I could put together in my head are punching primers and the gases blowing back onto the bolt face.
It still functions as it should and shoots like a dream. There's still plenty of meat on the bolt face and I'd run it without any hesitation.
