Finished up my 300 yard pressure/velocity/ladder test with my 7-300 win mag. 300 Win Mag Nosler case necked down/180g ELDMs/H1000/CCI 250/.008" off the lands. I think it likes the 71.5g-72.5g node as it put those 3 into 1/2" with no vertical. Velocity is right at 3000fps. Will be loading up 5 each at 71.5/72/72.5 and see what they do for groups on paper and some more velocity numbers. For now I'm pretty happy with the potential...

73.5 - 74 - 74.5 looks good too . I'd probably look at both nodes at a longer distance this will separate the good from the bad . I'd also look at velocity , maybe one would give a better ES .

EDIT;
we must have been posting at the same time . I didn't see the velocity paper . I think I'd still explore both at longer distance

Would you just load up 5 at 72 and 74 in the middle, or would you do 5 each at say 71.8/72/72.2 and 73.8/74/74.2? My thoughts with the 72g node is I'm only losing 60fps to the 74g node , and will be a lot easier on brass. I have the same test with RL26 loaded up, I just ran out of time and the wind picked up.

I like to work in the middle of the node . I'd do 72 , and 74 . by working in the middle , it should be a more forgiving load .
clean the rifle between H1000 and RL26 . then fire a couple RL26 rounds to foul the barrel . then do your RL26 testing . you always want to clean between different powders , or different bullets .
