just bought a 6.5 x 284 Remington sportsman 78 with shilian barrel.i want to keep it a rifle but am thinking about cutting barrel to 17 or 18 inches.be mainly for coyote and deer at around 300 yds or less, but would still like to be able to shoot targets at long range.what do ya'll think ,and what would be good scope and load . thanks
