Was sizing up a 510 Whisper for it (50 cal on a cut down 338 Lapua)

Perhaps but as soon as you select Lapua for the bolt face only long action is available. But I guess you could make your own bolt, or have it made.

You would have to order the sort action with either standard or magnum bolt face and then buy a Lapua bolt nose separate and change it yourself.

Ohio requires straight wall cartridge for white tails. This ought to do it ;-)

The thing with the Vesper short, it uses 1-1/16 tenon threads. Bat uses larger abutments in the long action and 1-1/8" tenon spec for the bigger case diameter. It's all done for a good reason.
