I think 3100 will be hard with retumbo. N570 should get you there.

Len , I have a plain 338 Lapua , with a 30"bbl . shooting 300 gr Berger E hunting bullets using RL33 , 2930 FPS . I did play with the 300 gr Nosler custom competition bullets RL33 2934 FPS .

Lapua case 118.50 h20 40* shoulder
Peterson 119.50 case is 1 grain heavier then lapua 40* shoulder
Adg 119.8 1.1 grain heavier then lapua 40* shoulder

I am about out of RL33 and couldn't it . I did find N570 at a fair price and bought 24 pounds of it . I just don't have solid enough info to share with you . it will definitely make more velocity than RL33 ,at the same pressures , and uses less powder . I'm sure of this .

mine is getting tired , and I've been thinking of going improved when I rebarrel it .
I didn't have any idea the capacity on the improved cases . Thank You .

does the Peterson , and ADG hold up as well as Lapua ? I've only used Lapua . I get 15 cycles out of it before it's trash . thanks again .

My chamber pressures out at 100 gr of N570 with most 300 gr bullets. But I'm also keeping things at mag length because I've convinced myself I'm a Team 6 Operator. I'm right at about 2900fps. I love this cartridge but I often wonder if I would have been better off with a 33XC

Where are you all ordering your go gauges and dies from on these improved cases?

My dies are the standard Redding 338 LM-AI. I sent them the reamer print, they sent me back a part number. Easy button.

If I was going to get a custom die I'd order a resizing reamer rather than getting one cut with a boring bar.

I got 13 firings on my peterson brass and its still good. Adg 5 still good
