338 edge max speed and pressure?

hi I built a 338 edge with a ARC NUCLEUS action and a Brux barrel 30 inch and I reach 3018 fps average with 97.5 N570 and a-tip 300 gr, no sign of over pressure, primer good(not flattened) no stiff bolt so my question is what your average speed with your set up because im a lot faster than the load of MR Carlock ! I'm afraid a little bit!

I would shoot it at say 1200 and see how much added elevation you need from your zero point.
Compare that with what others are doing with similar or even larger cartridges.
That would be an actual taste test.

My accuracy load with a 30in barrel is 2970fps with a 285gr ELDX. I believe I hit pressure signs at about the velocity you're getting.

+P or standard Edge? I have run my +P to 3000+ with no pressure, but I have a good accuracy node in the mid 2900s so that`s where I shoot it. I shoot it out to a mile with this load. 30" Hart, 300 OTM, and Ramshot Magnum.

This Is proven out to 3027 yards ( 1.72 miles) 3 shot 26 3/4" group on a 36" x 36" steel target .

It looks like I need to test the Nv570 and Rl-33 after looking at this post .
I'm ready for two miles !

Thats why i recommended he compare actual shooting with other guns.
He is claiming better velocity than larger capacity cartridges.

Might not be entirely relevant, but I'm getting 2950 with RL 33 and 285eldm in my 338 RUM, 26.5 " barrel at 1700' elevation. Slight brass swipe on the base, easy bolt lift.

Be careful. IMHO If your getting a swipe, even with easy bolt lift your over pressure. Just my .02

I'm at 2900fps with 101gr of RL33 behind a 285 ELDX. 28" Barlein barrel. Very faint ejector mark. Also gotten 10 reloads on Nosler brass. Very happy with that stuff.
