Looking to use H1000 for powder and fed 210 or 215 primers. Rifle is a Remington 700 long action with a 26" varmint contour barrel. Can I get 2,950 fps with this combo? Wondering if I can start at 70 grains and work up. Thanks for any assistance.

Hodgdon shows a starting load of 69 gr with a 200 gr bullet and 66 gr with a 220 gr bullet.

I've been reading peoples loads with their 300 win mags. Wasn't sure how much under the win mag I should start at. Figured 70 should work for a starting point.

charlieduece65,
Interesting cartridge you have there. Only load data I could find was one unconfirmed load on Reloaders Nest. There is a load using h1000 and the 208gn AMax. Check it out. JohnnyK.

Ran some rounds through the norma this weekend. Loaded h1000 with 208 amax from 73-75 grains in .5 grain increments. 73.5-74 grains had 1/2" or less 3 round groups. I just ran some rounds through the chronograph today. 1 round each in .5 grain increments from 75.5-77 grains. They all ran around 2830-2840 range with fed 215's. It appears it isn't going to go any faster in this 26" barrel. No real signs of pressure. (I ran both a 76 grain load with a fed 210m primer and a cci 250 primer just to check the difference and the 210 ran 2,790 and the 250 ran 2,840). Should I stay with the fed 210m's or run the mag primers? Thinking of running the 210's up starting at 76 and checking accuracy and fps.

Chrono wasn't reading right the other day for some reason. I am at 77 grains with the fed 210m and getting an average 2,887 fps. Easy extraction no marks on case head yet. Primers look ok other than some primer flow back through firing pin hole. Case is expanding .003 above the belt after firing. I resize with the larry willis collet die and full length size from there bumping shoulder back .002.
