I have a 300 WSM built by HCA off with a 1:9.5 twist and throated deeper for heavier bullets (215 grain neighborhood). I tried H4350, 4831SC, and H1000 with 212 ELDX and 215 Bergers. Ended up with 67 grains of H1000 shooting 2600 FPS and .3-.4 groups.

It's a little slow for me, and I'm worried about chasing velo with RL26 when I hunt in 20-110 degree temps. Wanting to be 2900 FPS or better. Any bullet or power recommendations to achieve that? Considering 200 ELDX or maybe lighter.

In my opinion the 215 Berger is one of if not the best 30cal bullet. I would consider working up and trying to find a higher node using H1000. I would think you should be able to reach 2800+ safely. I wouldn't worry about chasing an extra 100fps if the rifle shoots well at a slower velocity. I agree that 2600 is slow and I would continue experimenting to find an equally accurate and consistent load that's faster.

I shoot 208amax and 212eldx with retumbo. It's not a wsm, but it's the same case capacity and I get just to 2900 from a well worn 26" 1:10 Douglas xx. Just pver 100% fill and no temp change.

I run a 208 eld on 7828sc, from a 26" pipe its running 2855. Last weekend I fired a 10 shot group at 300 under 2" with an es of 9. Plenty good from bipod/rear bag in the field.
RL26 will also push the heavies pretty fast in a 300wsm, I can get a bit over 2950 with a 200.20x in the same 26" barrel.

Appreciate the feedback. I'll play with it some more this off-season. I really like the 212 grain ELDx, but 2600 is just a little too much margin for error for hunting. For me.

We did just kill 4 mule deer in Sonora Mx with it, and it preformed well. Although shots ranged from 60-163 yards.

I have a 300 wsm with a 24" barrel and used RE-26 pushing a 210gr Berger vld hunting with great accuracy.

1000 BR shooters frequently speak highly of RL23 with heavies up to 230 gr. It seems the 2800 +\- fps node is favored in the 210 to 215 weight class. Lots of info over at accurate shooter.

I've got an introductory year M70 300 WSM 1:10 twist factory barrel that seems to be preferring 66.2 gr RL23 with 180 Scirocco II @ 2925 to 2928 fps. Getting 0.5 moa at 300 yd and as little as 0.2 moa when I get my part spot on. The barrel has sped up recently which supports my original assessment that it was barely used when I got it in 2020.

I was shooting 67.5 gr at 2991to 3002 fps but then a month ago it jumped to 3033 fps and I had a very heavy bolt lift. So, I went back 1 node lower.

As with anything else, YMMV. I tried the H4831 SC (my goto powder) and H1000 and other similar burn rates on Berger 215s and got a similar result as yours until I tried RL-17 (2850 FPS 24" barrel). Others have noted it is temp-sensitive, but I have not experienced it because I do not hunt in the same temp spread as you. Others are claiming an additional 100 FPS with RL26. You can also try the 205 Bergers. Good luck!

Hmm I checked Hodgdon's load data. They don't list a 215 Hybrid but we could glean some information from the 212 ELDX data. Maybe try Staball 6.5. You could check with Berger to see if they have any data for it. Also a change in primers could bring up the velocities. Just my two cents worth from the peanut gallery.
