Had my barrel threaded for a Vais brake but if I want to put a can on it, do I need to look for a can that specifically has the same threading of my brake or do I have to get it re threaded?

Many suppressors can be ordered with a specific thread pattern. Also you can buy adapters to convert from one thread to another.

Buy a brake that has the common thread pattern as your suppressor.
