I've finally gotten some 215 bergers and loaded up some with retumbo. Rifle is a sendero sfii in 300 win mag. I loaded up some retumbo to see if it would shoot. I loaded 4 rnds each of 74.5gr, 75.5, 76.5, 77.5 and 78.5. I am using hornady brass that's been sized with a lee collet sizer. CCI 250 primers and .010" off lands. Look how several of these loads are trying to shoot into two different spots on target. I'm wandering if playing with the seating depth may help this? Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

I will do the same test with h1000 and h4831 and then pick the best and then play with the seating depth.

Second photo is a group of a well developed load just for fun that I shot today also.

I'm just about to do this with the 215's and H1000. At least when I can find a store locally that carries the 215s! My hopes are slightly diminished after buying the new Sig brass and finding out it's no better or perhaps worse than most of what's out there.

What kind of FPS were you getting with the retumbo? Look forward to seeing what you come up with for the h1000

I had the 215's do the same thing until I had them at.040 off the lands then I started getting dime size groups

I didn't crono the loads but once I find the right load I will. if I get 2850 I'll be happy as long as it's tight.

I just did this about a month ago. 77.5gr H1000 with the 215s .01 off the lands nosler brass and a Fed 215 primer. That load shot less than a half MOA for me at 100yards out of a 24" factory ruger m77 barrel. Just what worked for me. It also liked 74gr ok but not as much as 77 to 77.6gr. H1000 powder has been my go to powder in my 300WM for years.

I started to do load development with the 215 Berger's using h1000. I loaded up 5 each 20 thousands, 40 thousands and 65 thousands off the lands. I would have to go look to see how many grains of powder, but it was a fairly mild load. It chronograph at 2650. While all 3 shot under moa the 40 thou load put them well under half moa. I know I could probably get more performance. But I reasoned that I was very happy with the results. I have not shot them past 700 yards, but they performed well out to that distance. They have killed elk between 100 and 500 yards. Elk never knew what hit them. So I can't really say I did much load development, I just picked a load that shot well. Used 250 CCI primers. Rem. Brass. H1000.

I have 2 300 WM rifles, one 24" and the other 26" . They both love 76 grains of H1000 and the 215 seated .020" off the lands , Norma brass with CCI 250 primers. The 24" gets 2800 fps and the 26" gets 2860 . Both are custom and shoot into .1s and .2s .

The 24" rifle helped my young son take his 1st elk and a nice muley last fall . Even at a modest velocity the 215s have been great for us at the range and in the field.

Went out today and tested h4831sc with the 215's. Tested them at .010" off lands. Had a few fliers but they were definitely called as the bolt was pretty tight to close on the fliers. Except 71 gr. The gun just didn't like that load. Mirage was pretty bad and I was pretty happy with these results. I may try to go up in powder and see if I can find abother accuracy node. If not then Ill probably settle on 70-70.5 and start stretching it out.

Im not sure. Didn't crono the loads bit I'm assuming like 2800. I wanna try h1000 but I'm low so need to get more. But h1000 has never shot as good as 4831 out of my rifle so far. Not sure why
