300 smk on game

I have picked up two 338 Edges and I'm wondering how the 300 gr. smk will perform on Deer , Elk , Antelope , Bear
Hunting Edge has a 30 " tube Burris xtr ii 5 x 25 x50 ...300 smk at 2890 .

I've used the 300 SMK in a couple 338 Edges. It occasionally does weird things like dragging a deer's lungs out the other side, but results tend to be spectacular. In our loose group of "Edge guys" long range mulies was the most common quarry; largely due to it being the volume opportunity available that was even remotely suited to the heavy rifles. A few prairie moose got tipped over too.

When we 1st started hunting long range we used the 300g smk in our 338 Lapua imp. Shot a bedded mule deer buck at 960y. Entered behind the shoulder and speed in the neck. Buck did nothing but relax. After examining therecovered bullet that completely separated core from jacket we discontinued use of it for hunting.
