I've been trying to work up a load for the 87 grain v-max in my factory Tikka .243 with a temp stable powder. I wanted something for cold weather windy day coyote hunting.

I couldn't get any H4350 and I tried H4831 and results were ok with groups running around 1 MOA. This rifle shoots flat base 100 grain sierras soft points at 1/2 MOA with 4831 so I know it can do better.

I finally purchased a pound of Accurate 4350 after researching the temp stability. Not as good as H4350 but pretty good and it seems much more available in my area.

I had established a seating depth previously while working with 4831 so I started with a mid range load and went up .3 grains to max. First three were .768 second three were .671 and the last three were this target. So I stopped and called it good. 😁

Sometimes it just takes the right powder after a lot of frustration. Thought I would share for you .243 guys.

Now I need to shoot it at longer range to see how it does.
