180 ELD-M in 7 RM Anyone?

I ran some H1000 with a 180 ELDM in a rifle I've been testing. Velocity was just shy of 2900 fps with a 26" barrel and shot under 0.5 MOA. I think I stopped loading at 67.0 grains but was seeing no pressure and could have likely loaded quite a bit more powder.

70.9 - 71.5 grs of Retumbo looked like it was going to be the sweet spot in my 26" 1:8T. Right above 3,000 fps with SD 5-10 and ES 7-20, sub 1/2 moa. Now I can't get Retumbo.

Well that's good news cause I got some H1000 and my 338 RUM seems to hate it. And I hear ya on the Retumbo. I've never tried it but I got some on backorder. Who knows when it'll show. How does the bullet seem to stabilize at long range with a slower twist like the 1:8 or even a 1:9.25?

I run the 180s in a 9 twist 7 SAUM at 4500-7500 feet. It's been awesome out to 1600 yards.

I've got three 7mm rem mags. One is a factory 26" sendero. Shoots 180 elds with 69.5 grains retumbo to aprx 2860 fps. 1/2 moa or better. The other is a Savage with a 26" proof carbon. I shoot 180 elds @ aprx 2820 with 69.9 grains retumbo sub half moa.
The third 7mm rem mag that I own, I haven't had a chance to shoot it.
Among all of Hornady bullets, The 180 eld have been my favorite.

Well the 9.25 twist seems to work just fine for me with the 180 ELD M. Shot a great group sighting in at 185 yds then went 3 for 3 at 722 and at 950. I used a multi b.c. drag function and it appears to work perfect for me at the listed ranges. Mv is 2870

Yeah, the 180 eld worked great in my 9.25 twist factory barrel. I also shoot it in a 8.7 twist and an 8.4 twist. It's my all time favorite Hornady bullet. I shoot the 88, 147 & 225 eld also
