20moa base, adjusting for scope line of sight

Thats how i assumed it would be, but i was informed i was wrong. Thats what is confusing me. Its a problem for me now that i realize my scope with the BT now only has 13.5 moa of elevation, i dont think I can reasonably get to even a 500 yard zero if thats correct

20moa base, adjusting for scope line of sight

That logic works if shooting a laser. Accounting for bullet drop, its gonna be quite a bit different. This is also part of my learning curve, I did not realize by moving to the Swarovski ballistic turret. I would lose so much elevation. I went from 43moa of clicks to 13.5 MOA. I cannot move my...

20moa base, adjusting for scope line of sight

Hello all, Hoping for an opinion here. Ive got a set up that i use for units where shots are on the long side, historically ive been displeased with my ballistic turret having elevation stop at 670 yards. I want to practice further, but my range has 600 or 850. The holdover is such that i...

So the more I read, the more people suggest starting at .020 off the lands and trying different powders all at .02. From there they take the best shooting powder and then adjust the bullet seating depth. I have heard many people suggest that anything furher than .05 from the lands is wasteful...

Re: Getting The Best Precision And Accuracy From VLD Bullets In Your Rifle Thanks for all the input. I picked up the hornady comparorator and what a dofference. I tested my 20 rounds and almost all where 2.802, my furthest off was a 2.790. That was one of two not within .005. Measuring the...

    Max COAL questions

So question about doing this. If you do this how are you measuring consistently? Based off of reading the two articles from berger bullets The actual bullet link that can vary quite a bit, and you were not measuring at the ogive because of that. So it seems like this is where you need a tool to...

Feenix, those are some GREAT reads. Really got me thinking. So by COAL standards, I am OK. But I am potentially giving up some accuracy until I figure out where my lands are and then measure CBTO. Seems like the easiest way to do if you are using the same bullet is the process described...

    Max COAL questions

Thanks everyone. I am using an old Lyman Turret press, and using new RCBS dies. I am curious how consistent I would be if I measured off the ogive. Engineering101, I had actually been reading about doing that exact same thing. I am debating pulling the bullets and reseating if they should...

    Max COAL questions

hello everyone, I was hoping to get some input on a few questions, after hours of looking at various threads and some semi conflicting one another I am in some ways more confused than when I started. I'm new to reloading. I decided yesterday to load up some rounds for my 270 using 130g...

    Florida greetings!

So, finding more reviews it appears the WV outfitter may be too fenced in for an outfitter where i am not sure if thats really a fair chase. Ill have to try to learn more before considering them. 600 acres sure does not feel like a ot for what the amount of game they are offering. When i hunt...
