.308 / 7.62mm 1:15 up to 150 grains
1:14 150 – 168 grains
1:12 168 – 170 grains
1:10 170 – 220 grains
1:8 220 grains or more
According to this, I can stabilize 168-170 grain bullets with a 1:12 ratio. Is anything smaller than this too fast of a twist ratio.
I wanted to load 150g Matchkings...
I'm new, so this could be completely right, but I just figured that it wouldn't be so many MOA to get the gun shooting out to 1000 yards.
It is a Sierra Matchking HPBT at 168g shooting 2600 FPS (.462 BC)
Cabela's: Lee Breech Lock Challenger Reloading Kit
Is there everything I need in this kit to start reloading? Besides brass, primers, bullets, and powder obviously.
"The tactical turetts are awsome they reset to zero every time" This is what confuses me. Is there some way to reset it back to your zero after you adjusted it out to a different range? New with using turrets on scopes so I have no idea.
I am new to long range shooting, and I was curious about setting your scope back to your 100 yard zero after you have used your turrets to adjust it to a farther yardage, let's say 600 yards for the sake of the thread.
I am using a Millet TRS-1 4-16x
I have a Remington SPS Varmit Chambered in .308. Scope has 1/4 MOA Windage knobs. I'll be shooting 168g HPBT with it. Is there any sight which can make me a chart basically which tells me Drop in MOA and Windage for this load?
I was wanting to get a long range shooting scope that can reach out to 1000 yards.
The only things that are necessary for me really are...
1/4 MOA Target Styled Turrets
At least 9 or 10x magnification
Other than that, it's not really a big deal to me.
Suggest the best for me!
