Good post and gets one thinking.
I mainly try to buy American goods and it is a personal choice we all make, sometimes it just doesn't work out.
Now all my firearms are US made - rifles, handguns and shotguns with the exception of one Turkish over/under 12ga.
My scopes are all Leupold and in all...
I built a 280AI several years ago and haven't looked back.
Wonderful cartridge and very easy to form and load.
I'm sure you would like yours in AI form too.

Boyd's is an inexpensive alternative to the high end stocks costing hundreds more but what I what to know is are they worth the time and expense? I will be bedding the action and finishing the stock myself.
The laminated varmint stock looks ok to me especially with the adjustable cheek piece...
For a 22-250 AI what would be the optimal twist rate for heavy bullets say 60 to 90 grains in weight? Should be able to shoot the 60gr bullets well and also stabilize the long 90gr bullets, barrel length would be 26"-28". Would this be possible?
Any comments or suggestions would be great, I'm...
I have been thinking and reading the forum here for a while now. I'm looking to upgrade my 23 year old .280 Rem Jager with 24" sporter barrel and Mauser action and 3.5x10 Leaupold scope. Thinking to go to a new longer and slighly heavier barrel in 6.5 x .280 AI or just a chamber ream to .280 AI...
Thanks for your input and suggestions. I thought as much myself and am leaning toward the Medialist too. The price of the Medialist on Stocky's website comes out lower than Richard's after a few options like adding a decelerator pad and swivel studs to a laminated stock.

I am looking to upgrade my old Bell & Carlson Carbalite stock (1989) to either a laminated or another composite stock. I have a Mauser Interarms Mark X action in 280 Rem and was wondering if Richard's Microfit laminated stocks are a good buy or not. Anybody have any experience with them?
Also am...
Thanks for everyone's replies and comments, they are appreciated.
I just may start looking at the stainless pin tumbling media as it looks promising from the posts and replies here.

I have a Lyman T Turret press that I've been reloading with since 1988 and not one problem - knock on wood! I don't know much about the Redding presses as I have no experience with them except I hear they are well built just like the Lyman and other good presses.
My press is well built...
