How often do you clean your barrel?

When they need it. All my rifles are different. Hunting rigs, when the season is over. And anytime they are going to be stored for awhile.

    dilemma over bullets and powder

I hunted many years in Colorado with a 300 WM, shooting either 165 Ballistic Tips or 180 Partitions. Both used RL22 for powder. Had no problems with accuracy at any temperature. Your concerns are baseless. I shot these loads at anywhere from 80+ to 0 degrees. BTW, I lived in Colorado for 35...

I'm considering Polishing the Inside kneck of my 7mm brass.

I don't think I would bother with it. Seems like a lot of work for little or no gain. I've never heard of anybody doing it. So it's likely it's not worth it. Over thinking a non-existent problem.

Weber.com - Parts Detail - Weber® Q® 6-Foot Adapter Hose (Part #306501) Just about anywhere that sells BBQ grills will have these. Generics are cheaper and just as good. We had several brands and lengths at the Ace hardware I worked at.

    Elk Rifle 270 wsm 300wm 300wsm

I lived in Colorado for 35 years. Rifle of choice was my Winchester Model 70 in 300 Win Mag. I've used 270's, 7mm's and others. Always went back to the 300.

Best .308 Win Bullet for Elk

When I lived in Colorado. My Elk bullets of choice were Nosler Partition. 7mm Rem Mag I used 160 grain. 300 Win Mag I used either 165 or 180 grain, depending on the range. Usually 180's though.

Wnchester 70 vs Remington 700 XCR tactical long range

I own a Winchester Model 70 Classic SS w/BOSS and a Remington 700 Sendero, both are in 300 WM. Both are real shooters. I used the Win 70 for Elk, Antelope and Mule deer in Colorado when I lived there. I'd have hard time choosing between the 2 rifles.

    Sightron Scopes

When I worked at Center Drug in Glenwood Springs, we carried Sightron. I know because I have one from there. Got a free shirt from the sales rep too! Center Drug is now a Rite Aid I believe. I worked there back in the late 90's so I have no idea about what they sell now or if they even sell guns...

    Death of the Marlin Levergun

Thanks for that. I've heard other horror stories like yours. I'm glad all my Marlin levers are older models. I own two 336's in 30-30 and 35 Rem. An 1894S in 44 Mag and a 444S in 444 Marlin. Stick with the old used ones, they still shoot.

300 win mag recoil? How many shots?

20-30 rounds out of my Sendero is not much of a problem. More than that and I'll feel it the next day.

    Looking for a new Rifle

Your best bet is probably going to be talking with the friends you plan on hunting with. Offer to buy or supply the ammo and see if they'll go shooting with you. They get a chance to shoot on the cheap and you'll get to try out a few gun/ammo combinations. That way you'll have a better idea of...

How hard is it to learn to reload ?

Back on topic: I reload and have been at it for over 40 years. I'm quite positive it hasn't saved me any money but I do get to shoot a lot more! gun) And accuracy compared to factory ammo is much much better!
