Thanks Now that deer season is over (muzzle loader ended yesterday) I have 11 months to get the gun and play with it. I thought about shooting it as a 25-06 to see how it shoots. I will buy the 30-06 barrel and have two guns, either way I win. Thanks again Chris

I have a heavy barreled savage 243 with 1:9.25 rate of twist I will be using this for an all around rifle from woodchucks to deer. what factory ammo works with this rate of twist. thanks for your time chris

I was just wondering with the bipods,scopes,heavy barrels, target stocks. Do you still hunt, spot & stalk or just find a good spot and sit? I was looking at some rifles pushing 10-15 pounds.

What I mean is I want a 30-06 long range gun but I don't have $3000 for a custom. I see a lot of 308's and 300 mag LR guns can I recamber them to 30-06 I have a rem 7400 and a single shot both in 30-06 and Iam set up for the 30-06 so I want to keep it simple. I hope this clears things up...
