Planning to get out west this fall for my first antelope hunt. Would you recommend a DIY hunt? What state offers the greatest success?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
The Lyman unit indexes off the case mouth to control the depth of cut, ensure that all cases have been uniformed (trimmed) to length prior to deburring/chamfering the primer pocket.
I have a couple hundred “Norma” cases in .338LM and use “Federal” Match Primers.
No problems or concerns, does require some additional effort, nothing like you are describing.
Thanks for explanation.
I always thought that running a case over a mandrel would smooth up the inside surface and remove the donuts, etc. What method would you use for inside neck reaming on new brass that’s used in a standard chamber cut to the minimum SAAMI dimension?
FYI: Received a new...

To help speed up the process and keep my hands from falling asleep (carpal tunnel syndrome) I purchased a...
The “Sinclair” uniformer I use cuts .132 deep ±.000 (SAAMI pocket dimensions are .125 min - .132 max)
I purchased a couple hundred (same lot number) new Norma cases in .338 LM a few years ago. The primer pocket depth varied .003 across the entire lot. Every case had some material removed to...
Have had great success (couple of thousand of cases) using a “Sinclair” one piece non-adjustable uniformer w/ a power adapter. Just need to go slow when cutting and keep the chips cleared.
Remember that brass flows into the primer pocket area upon firing.
A lot of folks think that primer...
Great idea on adding a plate to help stiffen the top when mounting presses, etc.
I've seen this before when mounitng a vise to work bench.
Prebuilt cabinets! Wow... now that's a nice touch!
When are the rest of you gonna clean those benches off and get us some pics?
