For those with units, if there are any product improvements that you want to submit to the product improvement team here's the link to the submission form.

I don’t know that I’d sell off Chrono’s before more reporting comes out now that more user reviews are coming. I believe the Garmin is a great unit and the app integration seems to be there initially. There are some deeper data collection and usability features that I’d like to see implemented...
Power wise it’s probably somewhere between a 308 and a 30-06 but uses 32 caliber bullets. It’s what the Germans used in WW2 largely but it’s still used worldwide as a nice all-around cartridge no differently than 308 or 30-06. You see them more in Europe or Africa generally but most European...
My 280AI has a 24” barrel. That being said, if I remember correctly there was a greater drop off per inch once you go below 22” (if I remember correctly) from a test that I read that compared speeds going below a 26” barrel. There was about 20-30fps per inch down to 22” but going below that it...
If you reload, I’d consider the 338 Sherman Short in a 20-24” barrel personally if I were concerned about bears. Outside of that I’m partial to 7mm cartridges.
No one has recommended it yet but how about a 8mm Mauser (8x57)? I’m not sure of the availability but it give you a larger bore size without unreasonable recoil.
Area 419 Hellfire Match is what’s going on my 7mm’s, 6mm’s, and 223/5/56 bolt guns… mostly to minimize muzzle rise and as a placeholder until suppressors come.
My opinion is that for pure clarity and minimal chromatic aberration the Kowa scopes with fluorite lenses (meaning the 55/88/99mm scopes) are the highest image resolving scopes from a lab standpoint on the market but you can’t go wrong with Swarovski, Zeiss, or Leica either. The 77mm uses Schott...
It does.
Sometimes there can be error by 10-15 yds but a lot of that actually has to do with civilian software and GPS error as well. I would also question human factors because the binos do have to be calibrated (the whole “figure 8” processes and whatnot).
In my trials though they’ve...
The Ultimate Reloader channel on YouTube built a 22” and a 28” 7 PRC and they provide numbers there if you’re interested and seeing comparisons. Hill Country Rifles also tested a 20”, 22”, and 24” barrels on a YouTube video.
In short there’s a 25-40fps gain per inch depending on barrel maker...
I use Leica Geovid Pro. Has AB Basic built it for out to 850m (this is due to legal reasons in Europe and you will find this to be the “baseline limit” on Euro brands) but you can upgrade the software license to the version that goes out to 2500m if you need to for an additional $150.
A few...
Seems like BOTH velocity AND energy matter.
You need enough velocity to initiate expansion and enough energy to push the expanded bullet through the animal… given proper bullet construction for the distances for the intended hunting use case.
