I wait 4mins between each shot

For target shooting I got 175grain SMKs to pattern between .7-.3" depending on me. For hunting I got 168 Barnes XXX to park at about .5" The 180grain stuff I have yet to get to work out of my 1:12 Rem700P. Haven't tried any of the smaller stuff as I've gotten these to work really well.

I'm pretty new to this stuff so I could be wrong, but could it be everything is functioning as should be? If its shooting 1" groups, and he moves it over 1" isn't it possible the second shot would hit in the same spot because it has moved within the margin of error? Only advice I would give...

44.5 grains of varget seated .020 off the lands puts 175grain SMK into .5 MOA out of my 1/12 twist rem.

If so, how much powder are you running? I had the parts lying around so I thought I'd work up a load and see if anything catches. Were they trimmed up? Maybe jamming in the lands and boosting pressure on those particular loads? 44grains of varget should be ok and sounds like it has shot fine for you up to this point. Weird.
