    Who makes the best rangefinder

I have owned and used a Leica CRF 1200 and a Swarovsky Laser Guide for a couple of years. The Swaro ranges further, has superb optics and is great for setting up 1 mile target gongs. The CRF is smaller, lighter, faster, aims more precisely and is great for ranging out to 1200yds. After...

Long Range Kangaroo Hunting By Shane Morgan

A great article Shane. Thanks for posting it. Ignore the knockers too. Anyone who says "Please tell us FH's, some of who have been reloading and competition shooting out to 1000yds for over 40 years, how to get 2800fps out of a cartridge that is not as fat and 16mm shorter than a 6.5/06??"...

    SWAROVSKI Monocular Range Finder

Jeff, Yours is faulty. Send it back to Swarovski and they will look after you. Their customer service is first rate. I returned two faulty units like yours before I received a good one that would range 1,500yds+ consistently. I eventually returned the third unit as well because it would...

    LEICA CRF 1200

Keith, It's an add-on. If you want to attach it just use the double-sided tape supplied on the back of the Lev-O-Gage. I bought mine at a marine supply warehouse but 4WD shops also sell them.

    Swarovski Laser Guide Owners

Thanks Jimm and Tulku. I'd actually settle for a reliable 1,000yds and that's why I opted to change my Leica for a Swaro. - reasoning that buying 50% more max. range than I need would get me there in spades. Incidentally, after the second faulty Laser Guide was returned, Swarovski assured me...

    Swarovski Laser Guide Owners

Guys, I need your advice on what constitutes “normal” performance in a Swaro Laser Guide. Long story short: My first Laser Guide was returned to Swarovski Austria after a few days testing because indicated ranges were inconsistent. eg a 886yd target (a large white tower) would indicate...

    Swaro Fliers

Thanks tulku. Our ser. numbers are well spaced so I guess the faults are random and not batch related. Swarovski (Austria) has just advised me to return my unit to the factory so they can check it out. Hmmm! It may be a while before I have a rangefinder again. Have a speedy recovery.

    Swaro Fliers

Thanks for the feedback guys. For the money, I had expected flawless performance from my Swaro so in a way I am relieved to hear that mine is NOT behaving normally. Still, it's a shame this sort of fault is not picked up in the factory pre-release acceptance tests. tulku, I remember reading...

    Swaro Fliers

Guys, Have any of you experienced "plain wrong" ranges being displayed by your Swaro Laser Guides? During testing of my new Swaro, I ranged across a valley to a house at 1760 yds, GPS confirmed. The Swaro occasionally gave a reading of 1765 yds but usually it displayed the "out of range"...
