basically i have a 3.5-15x56 nightforce sitting in my room right now with no gun to put it on. it was on a rem 700 sendero sf2 in 300rum. had some probs with the gun so got rid of it. ok so im looking for a gun to put that on in a 308 with a heavy barrel really dont trust anything from rem right now. i want something that i can take out of the box and just go to it im looking at the savage 10flcp-k. anybody have any experience or know much about these? or have any others i should look into for around the same price? this will be the first left handed gun i have ever bought. i have never even shot a left handed gun but been left handed all my life on some things and right with others.
need help finding left handed straight out of the box shooter.

I have an older 110 FLP in 25-06. Great rifle. Very accurate and fun to shoot. I also have a Model 116 FLCSAK that I bought as my dream hunting rifle back in 1996. It truly has been a dream rifle right out of the box and has put 10 hand loads into .446 at 100 yards. I just about fell over when I checked the group. The 3 and 5 shot groups from this one constantly hit dead center bull most of the time in one small hole and turn lots of heads. I have a 116 FLSAK in 300RUM as well I don't shoot it much because I no longer handle that much recoil well from a bench and with full power ammo it purple mushes deer sized game within 300 yards., It is a very good shooter consistently sub minute to 400 (As far as I've shot it). I also have a 111 GL that came as a 243 but wears several barrels from 22-250 to .308 depending on my mood. Savage rifles have treated me very well over the years and they used to make a left handed version of every 110 based model they produced. Sadly those days are gone .

Let's see, I have 1 browning, two rem, one tikka, and one ruger single shot for "lefty" rifles. I also have a semi-auto and a lever that are dang near as good. The lever is a win '95 so it is a top feed.
I'd look at what tikka is importing to the states if I were you. The lh 270 I have is dang good. Savage is always a choice if you like accurate fence posts; they are butt ugly but they do work. Browning may be a choice, but they don't have much of anything in heavier barrels. Years ago I'd have said rem, but as you said thay aren't trustworthy lately. You may as well plan on taking it down to action if you get a rem..

thanks for the replies. what are good tikkas? like which models r supposed to be better or are they all the same? and yea ill agree the savages are ugly but all i hear is how good they are right out of the box and thats what im after.

The target models cost a little more but the results from most of them are amazing. These guys know a thing or two about factory rifles

The varmint model 12s are a great bargain. I think ugly is in the eye of the beholder. Mostly it's what the guys with the 3-4000$ imported or custom rifles say when a 400-500$ American made factory Savage puts 3 in the teens and 10 under 1/2". Especially if the savage owner switches barrels/calibers at the bench in 10 minutes and shoots tiny groups again. When I hear "Savages are ugly" It usually translates to nothing more than sore playground banter. I like the looks of most of mine. I mean whats ugly about a laminate varmint stock with an ebony fore end, with a stainless action with a sweet trigger, and an oversized bolt handle, with a jeweled bolt body attached to a 26" stainless fluted barrel that'll shoot 7 you can cover with a dime (the flyer was me all day) for under $600 new?(450$ for this one out the door at a below cost sale
) yeah this ones not a lefty but at that price I couldn't resist.

I've got a t3 lite lh stainless(mentioned in my earlier post) in 270 and it's a 1/2" (100 yd) gun with ammo it likes at all, and a 1" (100 yd) gun if it'll just tolerate it. I haven't really seen any groups over that save for one bullet. I have around 800 blem 130 bonded bullets I got for a song, and they shoot like I payed nothing for them(pretty poorly). I've gone to wc872 and I get 5 in an inch at 100, but a 130 bonded at 2700 fps isn't really good for more than 200 yards or so.

The accustock has a full length aluminum bedding block. The early models also had a wedge that clamped the recoil lug in place. After removing the stock on the early versions with the wedge it was very hard to get the wedge reinstalled to produce the same harmonic which led to erratic accuracy and point of impact. Most guys simply removed the wedge and Savage no longer includes the wedge on the accustock. The aluminum bedding block provides a nice solid lockup and also adresses the issue of synthetic stock flex which seemed to be the number one area of complaint from Savage owners. To tell the truth I have never had an issue with stock flex on my savage rifles. I do love my accustocked unit though. Super accurate,

I have a tikka t3 ss light 308 left hand. As far as I aware they only import the ss t3 lite for left handers. With minimal work I have found loads that had 3 shot groups ranging from .46 to .64. with speer btsp and nosler bt both in 165grs. Tikka guarantees 1 moa, have a smooth as glass bolt and is 6.5lb without scope. The only thing I didn't like was I have to load to mag length but that doesnt seem to matter with the accuracy I'm able to get. Lite and accurate, what more could you ask for in a hunting rig.
