This is from a bag of winchester 300 wsm brass purchased brand new (zero reloads so far). Shoulders show these vertical dings that catch the nail (barely) and some cases only have one of them, others might have 6-7 vertical dings. Only appeared on about 12 of a bag of fifty...
I think I'd give Winchester a call or email for some type refund/replacement. I believe I've seen posts here about bad brass and Winchester making it right by replacing or reinbursment.
Not a thing wrong with them once you perform normal case prep. Winchester brass never looks pretty before it is fire formed. Unless it is a lot worse than what the photos show I wouldn't even give it a second thought! Prep and load!

I would size them as usual, then polish the neck on the inside with steel wool on an old cleaning brush and using the Lee Case Trimmer Shell holder fitted in a drill.
I loaded for a friends wsm. We got a brand new bag of win brass and a few pieces had the vertical dings in the shoulders. After fire forming, they were fine. You couldn't tell which ones had the dings after that. Prepped all the brass as normal and never had any issues.
