Need Advice on First Build

Hello all,

Im looking to build my very first rifle either chambered in 6.5-06 or 6.5-06AI (undecided yet). Ive read alot of posts on these rounds and im dead set on chosing one of these.

What im wanting to find out is what action i should base this on. Is there a specific action that would feed the round best along with being able to use the mag without any complication if i were to seat the VLD bullets out to the lands.

Any other advice would be great also.

I'm a big fan of Savage actions and rifles. That said, you will have more stock options if you go with a Remington 700 action or clone. Both will most likely have enough length for your desired seating depth. Did you have a build in mind other than the action?

Remington 700 would be the best. There's an enormous amount of top quality after market parts to match up with that action.
