Well, I have my new rig together, loads developed and zeroed, so it was time to try it all out. I went with a friend to some land with some long open areas. We set up targets, cut a few small trees that were in the line of fire and proceeded to the other ridge. We ranged the targets (steel torso silhouettes) at 578yds. Man, that looked like a long way!!! I dialed in my dope, squeezed the first shot and my friend called the shot as 6 inches high with perfect windage. Dialed down 1/2 MOA, second shot......smack!!!! After that, started trying for headshots after cluttering up the center mass area with black blotches. Man, I was on cloud nine!!!! Then it got better!!! We set up the same targets at a different location, drove wwwwaaaayyyyyy out and ranged them again. This time the distance was 1033yds. Man, there's no way I can hit that!! I can barely see it with the naked eye. First shot my friend says I hit to the right about 2 feet. (He really didn't need to tell me cause I saw this one hit.....really, really cool) Adjusted 2 MOA left wind. Second shot.....hit right under the target my friend says. Dialed in a minute of elevation. Third shot........SMACK!!! WOW!!! Recovered from the recoil, found the target in the scope, saw the bullet splatter to oblivion, then a couple seconds later heard the faint...ding. OH MAN!!! This is really cool stuff. We managed to hit the targets 18 out of 22 total fired shots at over a thousand yards! Was the first time either of us had shot past a few hundred yards. Not too shabby for a couple of newbies I think! Yeah, so what I got a case stuck in my resizing die this last week that, as of now, looks like I'm going to need some C4 to get it out, this long range stuff sure is cool!!
