I will be getting some trigger time at distance this weekend and looked up Bergers BC with their 30 168 VLDs and stumbled into their new (for me) BC calculations involving the G7.

I read Bergers information but after a fourteen hour shift my brain is mush.

My NF Exbal program, should I use the previous BC or the newer G7 for my entries? The difference in BC's are significant. I don't get much range time at 1K and want to waste range time.

Thanks in advance,

Wade

I don't think Exbal can use the G7 # (at least my version can't).

I'd use the builtin number from exbal. Or the old Berger G1

That makes it easy. I always thought the previous data was fairly accurate.

I'm heading to Ontario to put in food plots all next week. I have 500, 800 and 1K yards measured out. .

Wish I had a closer option.

Yep I blundered into this problem. The BC on the box is the old G1 BC. If you have a program that you can use G7 BC on (such as Ballistic FTE on iphone) you can get that BC from the web site.

You'll be driving right past my house if you go east on M69. I live in Lapeer just off M69. If you do, drop me a note and I can buy you a cup of coffee.

Unfortunately Exbal doesn't currently accept G7 BC's.

I've been talking with Gerald Perry about this, and it may change in the future, or another product may be introduced that can accept G7's.

Until then, the G1 will get you very close on drop because it's an averaged G1 from 3000 fps to 1500 fps, not just the 'high speed' number.

Take care,
-Bryan
