anyone cut down a proof? I have an hca carbon that was cut down on a lathe. No issues at all. Anyone tried a proof?
New barrel = 1000 after smith work. Cutting and threading = 100. Seems like it would be worth a try.Negative. Order a new barrel to desired dimensions.
Perhaps. I think I'd pay the $1000 for the new barrel and sell the old one unaltered to offset the cost. If you cut the barrel and things go bad, then it's completely worthless.New barrel = 1000 after smith work. Cutting and threading = 100. Seems like it would be worth a try.
