I live in Annapolis and am in need of a gun builder to put together a mid/long range hunting rifle based on a 7mm Wby action, Lilja barrel and B&C stock. I would like to be able to drive to the individuals shop and talk to him, so am interested in someone located in southern PA, MD, Del, or northern Va. I have no personal contacts that could give me a lead, so I would appreciate a recommendation or other suggestion on how to proceed to find such an individual.

Thanks for the help.

Eddie Harren is a forum member and a very good gunsmith ( and honest which counts a lot for me) He is about an hour and 15 minutes from you. He fixes all my broke guns and if I build any more rifles he will build them.

He is usually ranked in the top ten nationally in benchrest with the rifles he builds himself.

Lilja Precision Rifle Barrels - NBRSA Winners and Records

My daughter did not like the trigger on the 40X that another gunsmith had put on it so I had to take it to Eddie to replace it. She liked the new trigger.

He lives between Rockville and Frederick, a few minutes off of I-270. You can find him on the members list and send him an email or I can give you his email and phone number and/or directions to his shop.

I'm a sponsor for LRH and I live in Central PA. I'd more than happy to talk with you about doing a custom build for you. My shop name is Montour County Rifles. A link to my website with contact information is in my signature at the bottom. E-mail, call or PM so we can discuss what you'd like.

Buffalobob - Thanks for the recommendation. Sounds like a top notch 'smith.

Kevin - Thanks for the comeback. I was hoping for someone a little closer, but will get back to you if I can't find one that isn't too busy.

There are 3 BR gunsmiths near York, PA: Clarence Hammonds, Bob Green and Sid Goodling. Also, Bill Truitt in Shelbyville, MD might be very close to you.
