H1000 in the 7mm WSM

Quickload says I can get 3100+ fps with H1000 and 180 Bergers in the 7mm WSM. Has anyone tried this combo?

You might want to check it again. You'd be over max.

I copied this from another thread.

I run H1000 in my 7WSM; they are long throated to 3.160." I run a good/great target load at 66.3 grains and get 2,920+ fps out of it.

3100 is not possible under safe condition where I live.

3,000 fps is doable in a 30" tube, I suspect 3,100 is not.

Tyler,

I agree with JeffVN that 3000fps is doable but not 3100fps safely.
There was a guy who shot 1000yd BR here in Tucson and he shot a 7WSM with the 180 Berger/30"barrel and his velocity was 3025fps and he stated that the load was hot!
I shoot a 27" Broughton 5C barrel on my 7WSM using the 175 SMK over 67grs of H1000, I get just over 3000fps and that's a max load in my rifle.
The 180 Berger has a slightly longer bearing surface than the 175 SMK so I know if I tried the Berger in my rifle it would be less than 3000fps safely, I don't think a 3" longer barrel would add much more than 50fps.
Also to load a 180 Berger in a 7WSM at 3.341" COAL you would have less than .100" of the bullet shank in the neck of the case so that wouldn't be too good.
