Official Hammer bullets Terminal Performance (picture heavy)

A friend of mine shot a crop damage doe last night with his 7mm Remington magnum and the 143gr hammer hunter. Muzzle velocity is 3250 on this load. The shot was 150 yards broadside he hit a little far back in line with the diaphragm. The bullet made a slightly larger than caliber entrance hole destroyed the liver and diaphragm and the lungs were bloodshot up pretty good although he never hit them and it left a quarter sized exit wound. Two petals deviated from the shank and we found one in the hide. She went 70 yards and tipped over.

60.8 grains of N560, hornady brass, CCI BR2 primers, fit to mag length. 24" proof barrel with a muzzle break and 7.5 twist

Impressive - I've got to ditch my F215M primers and work up a bit. I've been reluctant to because my current load with RE26 has been shooting so well.

Thanks for the feedback.

Don't use them on Foxes.

They did work fine on my deer. Hit in center of chest, exited through neck. Deer facing me. Deer fell several hundred feet cartwheeling so it was hard to determine what damage was done by what.

N-560 and cci200 s 124gr Hammer 59.5 grs Proof 26" 1-8 - 3422 fps and settled on 58.8 at 3490 fps 6.5 PRC . Seated too second drive band and 1-4 crimp .
Because of you, I'm really looking forward to trying out N560 and the 124 in my 6.5-284 Norma. Scored 2lbs of it a few weeks ago. Swung by my gunsmith's shop yesterday and he said he'll be chambering and installing my new barrel next week!!

N560 and the 124 gr hammer will be potent in the 6.5-284 I have 2 of those too but in the 1-9 and 1-875 before I new better . The 121 gr Hammer works well with those twist.

Here's something a little different. First failure I've seen. This is a recovered .264 caliber 124 Hammer Hunter loaded at 3230fps out of a 6.5 PRC. I loaded them for my buddy. He shot a buck going straight away, slightly up hill, at 160 yards. The bullet entered near the rearward spine of the buck and was found up near the front shoulder like this. Looks like it hit something on impact that dented the tip in, preventing it from opening up at all. The buck was dead on impact though.
