Another one of "308nate's" beauties

Finaly got it all together and ready top shoot , even got the barrel broke in here at the house thanks to the suppressor , off for group testing shortly if the rain breaks.
Here are the specs
1)Phoenix Machine SA reciever , Heavy Rem tang , round target rear bridge and extended barrel tennon. Seekins .250" recoil lug with top key piece which also acts as a reoil lug for the scope base. Pacific Tool & Guage bolt polished .0015" under bolt race way diameter , M-16 Extractor and threaded bolt handel
2)Poilished and tuned Rem 40x trigger
3)Barlein 1-10 twist , Heavy palma conture , cut to 24" and muzzel threaded 5/8-24" with knurled nut , chambered with a Palma 95 reamer and throated for the 175gr Blak Hills factory ammo
4)Manners T4-A stock with butt spacer system , two fron studs , one rear stud , two flush cups on the left side , piller bedded with 7075 aluminum pillers and ALOT of devcon
5)Seekins 20 MOA scope rail
6)Badger M-5 bottom metal
7)The scope is a 3rd Gen IOR , 6-24x50mm with 35mm tube and IOR V-tac rings
8)The suppressor in the pic is a form 1 can one that I made for this gun , it uses stepped cone-spacer setp with a fully welded baffelstack and end caps , an outer tube is then press fit over the core and the end caps welded out , the bullet hole is then reamed and the rear threaded at the same setup hand fitted to this barrel,though a bit heavier and bigger than most comercial cans it works as well of better that the best out their.

Man that is sweet as anything I have ever seen. I love it........now bring it up to my place and shoot it on my range. I have 2 of those actions on the way....may have to rethink that and have Nate find me a stock and build one very similar.

I was able to break is in at the house because of the suppressor , shooting it into a mound of sand from 20 feet or so diden't make any more noise than a 22 LR with target loads or a high power springer air rifle , just stood in my shed out of the line of site and fired away, the neighbor 5yds away diden't think anything other than a pellet rifle which is very common around here with the overpopulation on squirrles we have.

On another note , the bolt handel was fitted by Nate as was the fluting to the bolt.

Their has been alot of bad press spread lately about the Phoenix Machine action and PT&G bolt not being ablke to be timed correctly , that info is completely false , if the smith has your reciever and knows what hes doing then the action will function perfectly which is actualy much better than a factory Rem 700 does ,this action opens just as smooth as any othe rfine custom and their is no "click" or anything at the top of the bolt cycle it just unlocks and slides back.

Well my little man was home from school today sick so I came home and we hung out and played with the reloading stuff a little after lunch the UPS man dropped of a couple boxes that had some factory ammo I ordered to test this rig out , so I asked sickly if he was to ill to go shooting and he was instantly cured !!

So off we went with one box of each , Federal GMM 168's & 175's , Corbon 175gr SMK's , Remington Premier Match 168's and 175's and 100 hand loaded 220gr Hornady round nose over 40grs 4350 in Lapua brass.

I fired all 100 rounds , cleaning after each 20 , figured I'd get the barrel seasoned before any goups were shot , the second to last cleaning resulted in very little copper so I didn't clean after the last 20 and just started shooting groups.
The Remington ammo all shot around the 1/2"-5/8" mark as did the 220gr ammo but I think I'm sold on the Federal GMM 168's even though I was wanting to shoot the 175gr pills , we'll have to see after the Black Hills ammo gets here. Here are the groups I shot and figured that they were half assed worthy of posting ,the conditions were grrreat , bout 45-50 deg , clear skies , 5-10mph wind dead at my back. All shots were from Prone with Harris Bi-pod and sand bag under butt stock , shooting off om a mat set on nice flat rock hard clay ground.
The load and group size are written on the target ,I mostly shot 3 shot groups but the last couple with the FGGM 168's I went for 5 cause I figured sombody here would give me grief over 3 shot groups though I'll probably get some anyway cause their not 10 shots groups.
Not bad for factory ammo
