Anytime you see Xmark, just know you're going to be replacing the trigger. Unless you like heavy, inconsistent pulls, then by all means keep it. As mentioned above, you can get a trued action from a few places for not much more than that. Or you can get a used "donor" rifle and have a smith true the action for you. I did that with a few rifles- used donors and new unused actions, but had them trued by my smith. Then I spun on some Criterion remage barrels and added my preferred stock/trigger....all shoot 1/2" or better at 100 yards all day long with a little load development.Appeared pretty standard , but big question for me was the trigger ? I know it's a matter of preference but if it's on par with savage accutrigger I would be pleased with it. But if I'd have to replace it then my "budget build " might be better starting elsewhere.
In just bought the same thing from Midway for $336 and yes your gonna need a triggerI'll check Northland out , I personally had no experience with the X-mark is why I ask. I'm wrapping up a "not so budget 280AI " now and got the bug to start another but upcoming wedding and funds don't allow same components as the 280 and I have some friends getting interested in more budget friendly builds is why I ask. Thanks guys

And yes mine was the X Mark Pro not the Walker triggerI would never use any type of factory Remington trigger once you had a Remington moment and you realize what could've happened( luckily it didn't happen to me) a couple hundred bucks is nothing compared to a life taken by accident or something else
